CAPTURING THE MOMENTS THAT DON’T MATTER

I am a photographer, artist and art & science teacher at primary schools in the Netherlands. My education as a fine art photographer was at the Royal Academy in The Hague.

On this page you find the latest images, changes on the website and news about upcoming recipes.

Sent your contribution for The Global Car Composition Project before JUNE 30 - you can sent as many series as you want!

May 31 NEW: SketchBook

On this page, you find all the experiments that occasionally lead to series (and often don't), but are essential for keeping the creative process alive. [SketchBook]

May 26 OLD & NEW SERIES

There are many request for the old series. People get inspired by my previous work and they say it's a pity this 'old' work is not visible any more. But there is good news: some of it is back! [PREVIOUS PROJECTS]

But there is also a new series comming: [LETTERS & Co] It could be the new Global Project in July or August...

May 19: Join this Exciting New Community Project!

I often hear that my website inspires others, encouraging them to use 'my' style as a foundation for their own creativity, and that truly brings me joy. I've also received wonderful feedback on the community project ‘Your Italian Amber Gallery.’

However, recent less-than-pleasant developments, made me reflect. I thought, why not open my latest project, ‘Car Compositions,’ to everyone, including the title? So, I present to you:

The Global Car Composition Project

Submit a photo series (min 3 photos )featuring a car detail, keeping in mind:

1. Only the car is visible (no background, road or foreground). Interiors are allowed.

2. The aspect ratio should be 65 x 24 (cinematic).

Beyond that, feel free to experiment: black and white, colour, any format (SOOC or edited); I’d love it to feature one of my recipes, but hey, you can even use a non-Fuji camera. Although I’m not sure why you’d want to!

Create a series (lets say a minimal of 3). I’ve chosen a hyper-realistic but graphic style, but you’re welcome to capture old, rusted cars, dents, or anything else; just remember to adhere to points 1 and 2 above.

I look forward to your submissions! To encourage participation, I’ll give away my ‘PlutoPro’ recipe to the first 10 participants for free!

UPDATED: ALL PARTICIPANTS DO GET THE RECIPE PLUTO PRO. So don’t hurry and make something special.

Please send in your entries with your name (or initials) and country, and let’s turn this into a beautiful global project together. Enjoy and be creative! DEADLINE JUNE 30.

I also uploaded 15 new images in [Car Compositions].

Ps. If you are not able to crop in cinamatic ratio, please do send in your contribution and I will crop it for you.

May 15 New Series: 'Between People and Art'

The weather wasn't great on Ascension Day, so we went to a museum. As I mentioned before, I'm photographing 'as if for the first time', exploring a new style. It is refreshing and liberating to let go of the past and start again.

As an artist and creative individual, you sometimes need to reinvent yourself. It's all too easy, like some people, to be swayed by what others are doing, and copying there work. Or - in my case - to repeat myself.

This is why all previous series have disappeared. But don't panic: I always clean up my site once every two or three years. Before you know it, there will be a lot of beautiful original work to see again!

In the coming weeks, the recipe examples will be expanded so that you can immediately see better how a recipe works.

This is my first new series. Working title [CAR COMPOSITIONS] take a look in the album.
